Halloween CupCakes!

I'm so excited to share my first Halloween CupCakes! Most of them turned out better than I thought they would. We were all pretty impressed. The cake is Chocolate and Vanilla. The frostings are Wildberry, Mexican Chocolate, Cream Cheese, and Strawberry. And of course I needed to make little versions with my favorite Mini-CupCakes. =) Chocolate was my favorite, but they'll all delicious.

Graves, Eyeballs, Pumpkins, Spiders, Candy Corn

I made them for a bake-sale at work, benefiting a little girls orphanage in Haiti where nurses from our hospital volunteer. Probably the first thing I've done for charity as an adult.
I was inspired by the sale and the season, so I browsed online a bit and found lots of ideas. Altogether they probably cost me less than $15. Maybe $10.
I can't wait for next month to make some Thanksgiving cupcakes, and for December when I can make Christmas cupcakes!

I'm Really Proud

Strawberry Cupcakes

I'm getting better and faster with my cupcakes. Jared's been helpin' me with frosting flavors and they've come out fantastic so far. I can't stand the taste of store bought frosting. And making my own is so easy. These babies are Vanilla Cake and Strawberry Frosting. They were delicious!

Crochet Bear Hat (baby)

So, because I participated in the Crochet-along Rachel at MaybeMatilda gave a free pattern from her shop.
After much debate I decided on her little bear hat.(she's got a few more things I'd like to make) Her patterns are pretty easy to read for beginners. I've got a few more of these hats I'd like to create in different colors and sizes.
Here's my hat. =)
Turned out nice

First Hat, ever

Crochet Baby Shoes

I've been very busy with crochet. After finishing the crochet along, I couldn't wait to get started on other things. I created these little booties from a free pattern at this blog. She makes the most beautiful things; I've been the most impressed with her stuff in my internet surfings. I modified the moccassin pattern, because I've got a neice, Bella(8months). Then I learned I'm terrible with gauge, ugh. They won't fit her, but I did get a request for a pair from Lola, a coworker. The second pair is Lola's, without the flowers yet. I'm practicing my flowers, changin it up a bit. I'm drawn to baby stuff right now, probably cause it's small, and little Bella is around to wear it.

Baby booties are a lot of fun to make, I can't wait til I get more patterns, and get more practice. I've got 3 sisters and my mom. Lots of ideas for Christmas gifts, I'm looking forward to creating!

Thanks for watching,

Birthday Cupcakes!

My First Post! Hello. I'm so excited about getting my blog started. I finally got a new camera for my birthday, yesterday. And I'm ready to post today.
I wanted to make cupcakes for my birthday (26!). Jared helped me, 'cause you're not supposed to make your own birthday cake, right?. He's not much of a baker, but helped me for my birthday. I'm still an amateur baker, and photographer. Hopefully this blog will help me practice.

They're mini-cupcakes cause I have a small obsession with them.
I'm obviously not 6.

I tried a couple different candles, but decided I like the first ones.

Cause they crackle!

Birthday wishes. They were quite difficult to blow out, the sparks kept coming.

And that's it! I'll be making more cupcakes for halloween also, and I'll post them on this rookie blog of mine.
